Give me your argument for why a movie like “Paranormal Activity” has been so successful when it appears to use such lo-tech special effects and just mess with your head instead of a movie that shows you ALL of the blood and guts with hi-tech special effects like “Saw 6”? (As a special bonus, I have included the trailers of what are being called two of the new scariest movies EVER, “Paranormal Activity” and the movie it was based on “The Entity” and the new remake of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” coming to movie theaters April 30th, 2010)(You must write 8 complete sentences or you will get ZERO CREDIT)

Its a hit because its more realistic. And people have fear of all that is scary. There babies! NO scary movie is scary. Only Barney is scary. The paranormal is nothing to mess with, because they cant bother you unless you bother them. People are vulnerable to movies if someone says its scary. I don’t think its scary because its just people that are dead that will linger for 1-40 days because they have died brutality or young. Unless you disturb them.

everybody says that paranormal activity is scary but its not that scary like some parts r but not a lot and if it was true then it would be really scary to me. because it can happen too anybody. i think it would be creepy to see like someone actually in person and that happening to them.i wanna see a nightmare on elm street though uit looks like it will be good. the entity I’ve seen it maybe like twice with my friend then my family. but it was good to me.

i think the movies are so successful because it makes people believe that it is real.but my thoughts about the low graded movies is that the may or may not be made up like Freddy.paranormal activity was gay because it show the good parts in the movies on t.v.. i think they paused the film making to make the prints on the floor. and the made the sheets blow up the movie is fake. the entity i never scene it so can tell u if it is fake or not.most of the movies u see might be fake. but the ones that say r based on a true story i think they are just like every other movie FAKE.

ive seen ‘paranormal activity’ n its the kind of scary movie that every unexplained action or noise freaks you out or makes you jump and both of those scared me. the scary part about after the movie is that i watched it on Halloween night, and i swear i thought i seriously heard voices in my house! 😮

I think that Saw 6 is better than all three of those movies combined. That is because in Saw you don’t know if they live or die unless you’ve seen it already. In Nightmare On Elm Street, you can tell if they die by how much time is left in the movie. Also, Paranormal Activity could be fake and they’re just saying that it’s real. I think the low grade effects just made it look real. I say traps and riddles really make cool kills. The blood and gore is better too. But that’s just me.

The reason that Paranormal Activity was more successful than the other movies with the special effects and gore, was because it was filmed on what appeared to be a home camera, giving it a realistic feeling. This mood more in depth scared the audience and gave them something to think about. Also, a realistic setting and story was produced to make it more believable that it was based off of true events.

I think it has been the best because it is full of scary things that could really happen.It was on a real camera that people use at there house. It happened at some ones house. If you believe in ghost and all that you could think this was real. Even though it aint about ghost. The movie is not scary to me but if you gett scared on like Jason and all that you will get scared. Also this movie does not have all the blood and nasty graphics that the other movies have. That is why i think it is one of the scariest movies of all time.

I think that paranormal activity is one of the best scary movie for many reasons. Well paranormal activity looks more real. Thanks to how it looks like a normal family it looks like it could happen to anyone. Well also that what’s happening at paranormal activity has more graphics. “The Entity” looks less real because of the poor graphics form the past. Also Nightmare on elm street doesn’t look that scary because the monster can be seen. Usually people get more scared if they aren’t able to see or prevent the happening. Ether way if I would sit and watch paranormal activity or nightmare at elm street I would probably freak out and not be able to sleep.

its all tite but nightmare elm street looks like the same old freddy like the old one. even though i am scared of him but the new one is kind of better. i like most of the sceens. paranormal activity is really not good movie and it doesn’t have really nice graphics. its uncool and people don’t think it isn’t. its ugly to me. its dumb to me. if there was a old kind i would watch that one more. the entity movie looks very gay. talk about poor graphics. now that movie doesn’t even need to be a movie anymore. it looks stupied to me and others. but nightmare on elm street is the best out of those 3. it has great graphics. but the other ones don’t. they need more work with there graphics. theirs are so dumb and very ugly and hard to really look at. but nightmare on elm street is the best to me and the coldest. i really like it so cold. that is all i have to really say ok. Paranormal Activity is considered super scary to most adults and not scary at all to most kids. I think most kids are desensitized to seeing violence but have no idea what scary is because they have had NO experiences in life. This movie is a throwback to old school movies where they made inferences and suggestions and let YOUR MIND do the rest, therefore you scared the crap out of yourself. Nowadays, they show you SO MUCH that it is really like a creepier version of CSI and not scary at all. The Entity is based off of true events and was an extremely scary movie 30 years ago when it came out. The notion that an evil ghost could control you in your house like that and no one believe you and believes you is truly terrifying.
