As you become older and probably more inclined to watch more movies, some people think Sony’s Blu-ray discs are the answer. Some say it is digitally distributed media, like NetFlix. In your opinion, will DVD and Blu-ray players become nearly extinct like VHS and CD Players due to streaming content over the web or will the lack of improvements in picture quality or simply usability give strength to Blu-Ray? Why or Why Not? (You must answer in 8 complete sentences or you will GET ZERO CREDIT).

I’m not completely sure what i think bout that. i mean i think yes. but yet i think no.so yes but no .i think people think blue-ray is so special .but there is not that big of a difference between dvds and blue-ray dvds i mean there both dvds and both use same movies. so i don’t understand why they r so special.but thats just my opinion. so i cant really chosse.

i think that DVD will become instinct because they are starting to come up with different technology. also because since more and more people are starting to get x-box and play station, they stop using DVD players. because the play station and x-box will be able to play movies. but i dont know about the blue-ray movies because they are newer and aere starting to get more and more popular. but i guess we’ll have to see what happens

i think they are going to go extinct because the xbox 360 is playing movies and the ps3 are to.i choose the xbox because i already have one.

Both of them. Simply because you can watch movies on both. After a while they both will become unpopular. They are both expensive. You can also watch movies in a PS2. There like the same thing except one is more expensive. So thats why I choose both

I think that Blu-Ray will go extinct. But it won’t be soon because Streaming is hard to do. You have to order with a form of credit card. You can only get a movie once and then have to pay for it again. The quality is not nearly as good. You can only get certain movies. It could go extinct or could last awhile. I’ve got my money that it’s going to be a long time before it goes extinct.

I think that blue ray will say for a long while. Blue ray is the best picture quality in my opinion. They are both good. Also net flix is good for sending movies to like xbox. I love both but if they go extinct then there is something wrong with the people making these movie equiptment things why make them extinct if they are so good. If they keep making new things and forgetting the old ones then in ten years every hobo will have blue ray. lol

I believe that Sony’s blue-ray players are the answer due to the entirely different concept in which they distribute sound quality as well as image quality. Blue-ray has completely remastered many of the original DVD or VHS versions of films and or shows. With the factor of Netflix coming into play…there will be some controversy as to whether or not it will out-date the blue-ray concept. In my opinion, the blue-ray concept stands stronger in means of quality and durability, while Netflix is stronger in means of convenience and accessibility. The one that stands stronger is opinionated between the two.

I think they will become old liek vhs and stuff. The reason is because they are allways making something newer and better. Just like now how they have the blue ray and netflix it used to be vhs. Now you can watch movies on ps2’s,ps3’s, x-box360 and so on. Those are the big thing now. Like when vhs first came out they were big. Every one wanted the VHS. So that is how it will be now every one will want the newest because it will be better.

Well in my opinion the regular dvd will be extinct. Blue ray is much better than the DVD. The VHS died because of the DVD and as the “circle of technology” continues the better thing will be dominate. Although new things like netflix is threating blue ray DVDs. We can now watch movies without leaving your seat. The internet is practically the new way of doing things. You take inventory in a restaurant electronically not by paper. You download music instead of buying the CD. You can also watch the newspaper or any other news through the web. We are currently experiencing the growth of technology at a fast paste. So like the “circle of technology” continues there is always going to be something better.

i like netflix. i have it and its cool. its the fastest movie getting thing in the world.its easy. and cool.i love it. you can get movies in the mail. and keep it as long as u like.

I don’t think anybody is going to stop using them. They won’t go extinct like VHS and CD players. I think there might not be room for improvement. I think that because they won’t be able to top it. They won’t go extinct because people will never stop using them. Its one of the best pieces of technology. They just won’t be able to top it. They just won’t stop using them.

i would pick red box. because it only cost a dollar. and it is not a store it is at places like gas stations and MacDonald. so you can be getting to eat and see a movie you want. well then you an get it. and if you want to keep it cost a dollar more. i get a red box movie like every 3 nights or something. so that is what i think.

i think bluray would become da coldest cuz its killing any other thing. such as da DVD it iz crap. i dont even like mine cuz its slow and it doesnt come out clearly. (da dvds) and plus i dontt really watch movies on a dvd. i am so use to watching tv. so i dont really care bout watching dvds and bluray. sometimes i use my xbox 360 to watch DVD’s. i bet da ps3 is useble 2. but there are alot of reasons some the things that used for dvds are bull. but it doesnt matter becuz n da long run some one is going to invent a new dvd player. That’s all.

I don’t know much about the tech stuff. But I guess picture quality gives the product strength. The picture quality also helps to sell the product. The main thing is that it won’t go extinct. People like non-expensive items. And its not expensive. So its fine for now.

Found this site by accident but both formats will fall to digital streaming movies. There is no doubt about this at all it is just a question of how soon. Off topic … has anybody else noticed the absolute desecration of the english language and all forms of grammatical correctness in the above answers? All I can say is … wow! Nevermind video media it is about time for people to read a book or two.
